Looking to buy, lease or finance a car in Tokyo, Japan?
The process of purchasing a car in Japan can be very time consuming due to the car buying process. You can not just simply sign and drive away. The process in Japan requires that you provide a number of documents before you can even have a car transferred into your name let alone drive away. Simply put - if you turned up at a used car dealership with all the documents required from you to buy and register a car in your name it would still take most dealers at least a week to prepare and deliver the car to you in your name.
Paper work needed...
Parking Permit - One of the documents you need is a parking permit. In most place is Japan you need to provide a contract of a parking space in your name that is within two kilometers of your registered Japan address in order to be able to transfer or place a car into your name. There are other documents needed as well - contact me at the numbers, email address below for details...
So regarding the timing of a car being delivered to you and the date from which you NEED a car - you will need to get ahead of the curve early!
